I drove out east to meet the Singers and photograph them right before the October snow storm. They were in town for a week from London. The beach felt so different in the fall from the summer. Even the sky seemed bigger. We skipped stones, rode bikes and played in the field next to their house. It was the quiet before the storm.

I finally finished processing my shoots from the Hamptons. Another season down… I plan to only post another shoot or two and couldn’t pass this one up. Such a beautiful family. We started at the Windmill in Watermill and then headed to the beach for sunset. We drew our names in the sand and played in the waves. Seems so long ago now that we’re moving onto to fall. Thank you Mittals.

I met the Arthur family for the first time this summer at our shoot. We spent most of the morning in their backyard. Lots of laughs, giggles and silliness, such a nice way to spend a summer morning.

I’ve wanted to photograph a family at the Lighthouse in Montauk since I started shooting out east. Nearly 5 years. When the Hardings called to set up their shoot and chose the Lighthouse as their location, I was beyond excited. They were the perfect family to photograph there. Laid back, casual, real, and worth every second of the 5 year wait.

They had no power after the storm so we listened to music on the Ipad and danced. We blew bubbles. We flew a kite and ran along the shore. We enjoyed a few Coronas. We shared a gorgeous evening filled with pink bathing suits that matched and the pink glow from the sunset. Perfect for these two little girls.

I met the Frigon family at their Westhampton beach club, The Swordfish Club, where they are 4th and 5th generation members. Wow. What an amazing place to be invited to shoot. I was like a little kid in a candy store. All that turquoise paired with a gorgeous family and Susan’s awesome coral pants, I just wanted to eat it all up. I think I died and went to heaven a million times. Their are few places as special as the Swordfish. I loved every inch of it’s original 1920′s walls. Swoon.

Susan and I have a mutual friend Kelly (my old boss from our PR days), who introduced us many years ago. She thought we would click, and she was right. We are both creative people who share a passion for interior design and now photography. Susan recently began her journey to become a photographer, which I know she will be more than successful at. Thank you Susan for an amazing evening and shoot.

This family and I have a very special connection. A connection that is unusual and that I treasure. A connection that is felt from both sides. I think the email Lan sent me after our shoot sums it up, see below. They are one of the loveliest families I have had the honor of documenting over the last several years.

from Lan:

“I’m so happy you are busy and booked all summer – no one deserves all of life’s successes more than you. You always make ALL four of us feel relaxed like we’re just with family for a few hours. I feel blessed to have you chronicle our lives the last 4 years and to hear of your successes and personal milestones during our quick talks. Looking forward to more…hopefully it won’t take a year!”

And then we went for coffee. Thank you Vukhac family from the bottom of my heart.

This was one of my first shoots out east and what a great way it was to start things off. Mom and I planned out our evening, starting in East Hampton right in town, where there was plenty of shade. Then right before the sun began to set and the light was just right, we headed for Main Beach where we stayed until it got dark. I loved how committed they were to choosing the right spots and spending enough time with me for everyone to feel comfortable. I can’t stress enough what a difference that makes. Thank you Chaiken family. It was a gorgeous evening.

The Chang family helped me kick things off this season. This was my first Hamptons shoot this summer. It felt good to put my toes in the sand.

This will be the final shoot from the Hamptons that I will share for now. A few from of the Lippman family. It was my last shoot out east, which they have been for the last 3 years. It’s nice to go out with a bang.

and then off to a field
