Quarantine Kitchen: Cooking For Kids

Coping Mechanisms

One thing I turn to when I have free time is my kitchen. I have a hard time sitting still and find pleasure in cooking or creating things. With things being as stressful as they are right now, we need comfort food, and a cocktail of course. That means a sweet treat for my boys, and a margarita for me. You can’t go wrong with homemade chocolate chip cookies, recipe is ol’ faithful, found on the back of the Nestle chocolate chip bag. For the margarita recipe, see below.

Skinny Margarita: makes 2

4 oz. Casamigos Tequila (my favorite)

3 oz. fresh lime juice, I use the Santa Cruz brand found at Whole Foods or Fresh Direct

1 oz. fresh orange juice (you can use OJ if you have it, just use less agave)

1 tbsp. agave

Course salt

Add ingredients to a shaker with ice and well, shake. Rim a glass with a lime wedge, dip in salt, and fill with ice. Pour beverage. Cheers!
