Setting the table for Thanksgiving is more important this year than ever. Celebrating and making things special is a priority during these unprecedented times. I decided to keep things casual, since it’s going to be intimate, but emphasize color for my 2020 turkey day table decor. By combining a mix of slightly more formal items like gold chargers with more casual items like bamboo flatware and rattan placemats, I can keep things fun and festive but comfortable, which is appropriate for this year.
When I host a holiday meal I like to take inventory of what I have on hand and what I want to use, and then take the opportunity to buy something new to add to my tableware collection. I decided to use the blue Ikea plates with natural accents, but wanted to warm it up a bit with some bright fall colors. I added the West Elm canyon red runner, the Anthropologie napkins, and the vintage porcelain turkey napkin rings were an Etsy find. I opted for no flowers, as I like the set the table early and flowers die quickly. The pumpkins and potted plants are low maintenance, and add to the casual, colorful vibe.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, however you celebrate this year!
